Record number of libraries hit million digital lend mark

Jan 13 2022 Leading library service provider OverDrive this week reported that a total of 121 public libraries and consortia across seven countries and 37 U.S. states surpassed one million digital lends in 2021. School Board Reverses Reprimand of Teacher for Anti-Racist Book

Rickie Farah, a 4th grade teacher in Texas, was voted the school’s Teacher of the Year in 2021. That same year, a student took home a book from her classroom library called This Book Is Anti-Racist, by Tiffany Jewell. The student’s parent, Sarah Muns, objected to the book and posted about it on social media. Though Farah agreed to stop carrying the title, Muns didn’t think this was enough, and claimed Farah “bullied” her daughter for taking the book without asking.
