Winners of the 2021 PEN America Literary Awards Announced

The winners of the 2021 PEN America Literary Awards were announced in their first-ever online ceremony since the Awards began 57 years ago. It was hosted by Kara Young and featured many guest appearances, including Whoopi Goldberg and Viola Davis. In total, $380,000 in prizes were awarded to a diverse range of writers, translators, poets, editors, journalists, and others. 2021 Women’s Prize for Fiction Longlist Announced

Celebrating excellence, originality, and accessibility in writing by women in English from across the world, the Women’s Prize for Fiction has announced its 2021 longlist. The longlist encompasses a wide range of genres, themes, and settings—from London to Hong Kong, Barbados to Brooklyn, among others—and features both established authors like Yaa Gyasi and Ali Smith and newcomers alike.
